Biography
I completed my Chartership training at Roehampton University, where I trained to become a Chartered Counselling Psychologist (BPS). I obtained extensive training in the three modalities; Psychodynamic, Person Centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
approach to treatment
My approach remains humanistic at the core, while using CBT-E techniques, which are tailored to the specific eating problem and the clients needs. Likewise, I use Schema Therapy in many client presentations when deemed helpful. Schema Therapy can be helpful in changing long term negative thinking patterns. I offer a safe, confidential space for clients to explore and reflect on emotional and behavioural issues. Collaboratively working with the client, increasing self awareness, teaching coping strategies and techniques that help the client to independently overcome their issues.
areas of interest / specialism
I have since trained in Schema Therapy and Eating Disorder Therapy, which has become my special interest area; eating disorders; body image issues, low self-esteem and emotional regulation.
