Biography

I am a Clinical Psychologist, accredited by the HCPC. I have a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Royal Holloway (University of London) and a PhD from Kings College London (Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience). I now have over 10 years’ experience working with people with eating disorders in both clinical and research settings.
The specific area of expertise that I have acquired is in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and the Maudsley Anorexia Nervosa Treatment for Adults (MANTRA), which are National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommended treatments for eating disorders. I am also trained in therapies with an emerging evidence base for eating disorders (such as Emotion Focused Therapy) and will integrate techniques (e.g., chair work) from these modalities where clinically indicated. I firmly believe that recovery is possible for everyone, and moreover, that it already exists within us. Sometimes we do not know where to look, or what to look for, and my role as therapist is to help the people I work with discover their own, innate, health.
Alongside the London Centre I currently work for the NHS as a Senior Clinical Psychologist in Surrey’s Adult Eating Disorder Service. When I am not working, I can be found in West Sussex with my husband, two daughters and our cat, Johnny Cash.
