Dr Juliet Rosewall

PhD, BA (Hons), PG Dip Clin Psych, Specialist Clinical Psychologist

Biography

I am an experienced Clinical Psychologist passionate about providing tailored, evidence-based treatment for young people and adults. I have worked in a variety of clinical and research settings throughout my career and have specialised in the treatment of eating disorders and eating -related problems. Combining science, theory, and a breadth of clinical experience, I believe in helping people understand what patterns maintain eating difficulties in their life and teaching practical strategies that can alleviate distress and help bring about meaningful change.

I completed my Clinical Psychology training and PhD in New Zealand (where I was born), worked in eating disorders and CAMHS settings post qualifying and moved to the UK in 2010. In the UK, I continued to work with adults and young people with eating disorders and related difficulties, in both individual and family contexts. Alongside clinical practice, I am a tutor at Kings College London for the Postgraduate CBT Diploma for Children and Young People.

I believe in working collaboratively and that a warm, non-judgmental, and compassionate therapeutic approach is paramount to any therapy. Often eating problems occur alongside other issues – such as low mood, anxiety, or relational difficulties, and I am experienced in treating these difficulties should this be a goal of your treatment.
I understand that change can feel hard, especially if patterns have been around for a long time. Therefore, I work to understand the values that are important to a person in order to help them live according to them and feel more fulfilled. There is hope for those who are struggling with an eating problem and I believe it is fully possible to move towards a valued life that is not ruled by food, eating or appearance.
