Biography

I am an HCPC registered Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist. I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at University College London and have been working with children, adolescents and adults in NHS Eating Disorder Services since. Alongside my work at the London Centre, I work as a Principal Clinical Psychologist in an NHS Eating Disorder Service in Kent. My work here includes working with individuals of all ages with an eating disorder, including leading our all-age ARFID pathway.

I have a longstanding interest in eating behaviours and the relationship we all have with food, weight and shape. I understand how difficulties in these areas can have a huge impact on the wellbeing of individuals and families, and effect people in all domains of life including relationships, work and education. I am particularly interested in thinking about the wider impact that society has on our eating behaviours, and thoughts and feelings about body image and appearance.

I work primarily with children and young adults, both individually and with their families. I predominantly work from CBT or systemic therapeutic models. I feel passionately that everyone should be treated as an individual and as such, I always aim to tailor therapy specifically to a client’s needs whilst being guided by the evidence around the most effective treatments. I have a particular interest in the relationship between eating disorders and neurodiversity, and how we can support neurodiverse individuals to access therapy where needed.

I understand that seeking help can feel very difficult for some people, and that often there may be some ambivalence or worry about change. I believe it is important to explore these feelings in therapy and work together to agree shared goals. I hope that I create a warm and empathic environment in sessions, and a space where people feel listened to and supported to work towards meaningful change.
