Biography
I feel the heart of any therapeutic engagement is the relationship built between two people. Therapy can be a daunting journey for anyone, having a safe and trusting space to explore these feelings is crucial. Having an open, thoughtful, and non-judgemental environment to work alongside someone during a possibly difficult time in their life, offers the best chance of this exploration.
Prior to coming to The London Centre, I worked for several years in inpatient forensic settings as well as a community based psychodynamic psychotherapy service. I also have experience of working in an NHS trauma service with a focus on PTSD and complex trauma presentations. I have worked with a wide range of presentations including anxiety, depression, OCD, substance misuse, schizophrenia, personality disorder, developmental disorders amongst others.
In line with my training, and personal philosophy, I feel it is important to be flexible depending on the needs of the client and therefore, integrative in my approach. Although the focus of my training has been CBT and psychodynamic psychotherapy. I also use features of schema, systemic and compassion focussed therapy, amongst others, when supporting someone in their journey.
When not at the London Centre I can be found riding my motorbike or camping in Dartmoor National Park.
