Dr Corinne Gibson
BSc (hons), MSc, DClinPsy Specialist Clinical Psychologist
Biography
I am an HCPC registered Specialist Clinical Psychologist, having completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I have over 10 years’ experience working within private and NHS mental health services, working with adults, children, young people and families.
I have been interested in eating disorders and body image difficulties from the beginning of my career and I am passionate about working with individuals and families to support people to recover and live a full and meaningful life. Alongside my work at The London Centre, I work within the NHS Vincent Square Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders Service.
I am dedicated to delivering individualised and effective therapy. I value taking time to get to know individuals and families and work collaboratively to support them to understand their current difficulties. I tailor treatment to meet their specific needs and goals, utilising evidence-based approaches, including CBT-E and FBT, and integrating other therapeutic models where indicated. I know how difficult seeking support and engaging in therapy can be and I value the importance of building a good therapeutic relationship with a therapist you can trust. My approach is warm, empathic and compassionate and I endeavour to create a supportive and non-judgemental space to explore individuals’ needs and work together to support their recovery.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, practicing yoga, and relaxing with a good book or film.
