Nutritional therapy is the application of nutritional advice in order to promote physical and emotional health as well as overall wellbeing. Dietetic therapy not only focuses on food and eating but can also address concerns about body image, weight, physical activities and thought patterns that may be preventing people from living a healthy balanced life.
Our specialist Dieticians, Christina and Sophie, use a wide range of tools to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to an individual’s symptoms and health concerns. This approach allows them to support and guide you towards a healthy diet plan that will help you to maintain physical, emotional and psychological health. Our dieticians are able to offer either a one off or a series of dietetic consultations. The aim of these consultations is to help you create a structured, healthy and balanced meal plan that will enable you to reduce bingeing, maintain, gain or lose weight as appropriate and keep your energy levels constant so that dips in mood, energy levels and urges to overeat are reduced. Christina and Sophie will work with clients individually or in combination with medical and psychological guidance offered at The London Centre.
Depending on your overall treatment goals, whether these are weight gain, cessation of bingeing or tackling feared or avoided foods, your dietitian will be able to construct a personalised plan that will enable you to meet these goals alongside your psychological treatment.
For individuals wanting to reduce their weight, either following treatment for binge-eating or alongside psychological treatment for emotional health concerns, your dietitian will assess your dietary needs and construct a personal plan that will enable you to achieve your weight goals in a healthy way. This does not involve fad diets or unrealistic food choices, but a healthy structured plan that you will be able to maintain over time.
